Terms and conditions

Customer Lead Referral Terms

These Customer Lead Referral Terms (“Terms”) explain the role of Doncaster Solar Installers (“we”, “us”, “our”) when you submit an enquiry through our website or contact us regarding solar photovoltaic (“solar PV”), battery storage, EV charging or related electrical installation services.

By submitting an enquiry to us, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

Doncaster Solar Installers operates as a lead-generation and referral business.

Our role is to receive enquiries from customers interested in solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and related services and, where appropriate, introduce those customers to an installation partner that may be able to provide the requested services.

We do not carry out the installation works ourselves unless expressly stated otherwise.

Our current installation partners are independent businesses and are responsible for the services they provide to customers.

2. Our referral service

When you submit an enquiry, we may review the information you have provided and, where appropriate, pass your details to one of our installation partners.

The installation partner may then contact you to discuss your requirements and, where appropriate, arrange a site survey and provide a quotation.

Submitting an enquiry does not create a contract for installation services between you and Doncaster Solar Installers.

An enquiry does not guarantee that an installation partner will be able to provide a quotation or carry out the requested work.

3. Installation contract

If you decide to proceed with an installation partner, any contract for the supply and installation of solar PV, battery storage, EV charging equipment or other works will be between you and the installation partner.

Doncaster Solar Installers is not a party to that installation contract.

The installation partner is responsible for agreeing with you:

  • the proposed system;

  • system design;

  • equipment and products;

  • installation arrangements;

  • price and payment terms;

  • timescales;

  • guarantees and warranties;

  • certification and compliance;

  • aftercare and maintenance; and

  • any other terms relating to the installation.

You should carefully review any quotation and contract provided by the installation partner before agreeing to proceed.

4. Site surveys and quotations

Any site survey, technical assessment, system design or quotation will be undertaken by the installation partner.

Any quotation provided is subject to the installation partner’s assessment of your property, electrical installation, roof, energy requirements and other relevant factors.

We do not guarantee that the information provided during your initial enquiry will result in a particular system size, price, energy generation figure or financial saving.

You should rely on the installation partner’s final assessment and quotation when deciding whether to proceed.

5. Installation partners

We aim to work with reputable and appropriately qualified installation partners.

However, each installation partner is an independent business and is responsible for its own work, employees, subcontractors, products and services.

Where applicable, installation partners may hold relevant industry certifications, registrations and insurance. You should satisfy yourself that the installation partner is suitable for your requirements before entering into an installation contract.

6. Our responsibility

We are responsible for operating our lead-generation and referral service.

We are not responsible for the installation works or services carried out by an installation partner.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:

  • the quality, safety or workmanship of installation works;

  • delays in installation;

  • the performance or output of a solar PV system;

  • the performance or lifespan of batteries, inverters, panels or other equipment;

  • faults or defects in products supplied by an installation partner;

  • guarantees or warranties offered by an installation partner or manufacturer;

  • the accuracy of an installation partner’s quotation;

  • the financial savings or payback period associated with an installation;

  • disputes between you and an installation partner; or

  • any loss arising from the installation partner’s acts or omissions.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

7. Customer information

When you submit an enquiry, you agree that we may use the information you provide for the purposes of assessing and responding to your enquiry and, where appropriate, referring your enquiry to an installation partner.

Where you have provided the appropriate consent, we may share your contact details and relevant property information with the installation partner so that they can contact you regarding your enquiry.

Further information about how we collect, use, store and share personal information is contained in our Privacy Notice.

8. Contact from installation partners

After submitting an enquiry, you may be contacted by one of our installation partners using the contact details you have provided.

The purpose of this contact may include:

  • discussing your requirements;

  • confirming information provided in your enquiry;

  • arranging a site survey;

  • preparing a quotation; and

  • answering questions about the proposed installation.

If you no longer wish to be contacted about your enquiry, you can inform us or the relevant installation partner.

9. No guarantee of savings

Any information regarding potential energy generation, electricity savings, export payments, battery performance, payback periods or other financial benefits is provided for general information only.

Actual results will depend on a number of factors, including system size, orientation, shading, electricity consumption, electricity tariffs, export arrangements, weather conditions, equipment performance and other circumstances.

We do not guarantee any particular level of savings, generation or financial return.

10. Customer responsibilities

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information when submitting an enquiry.

You should tell us and/or the installation partner about any information that may be relevant to the proposed works, including where reasonably applicable:

  • property ownership;

  • roof condition;

  • existing solar PV systems;

  • existing battery storage;

  • electrical installation details;

  • planned building works; and

  • any other relevant circumstances.

Providing inaccurate or incomplete information may affect the suitability, cost or feasibility of the proposed installation.

11. No obligation to proceed

Submitting an enquiry through Doncaster Solar Installers does not require you to purchase any products or services.

You are free to decide whether or not to proceed with any quotation provided by an installation partner.

We do not require you to accept any quotation.

12. Complaints

If you have a complaint regarding our lead referral service, please contact us using the details provided on our website.

If your complaint concerns an installation, quotation, product, workmanship, warranty or other service provided by an installation partner, you should normally raise the matter directly with that installation partner in the first instance.

We will, where reasonably possible, assist with communication where a dispute arises, but we are not responsible for resolving contractual disputes between you and an installation partner.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our business, services or legal requirements.

The latest version will be published on our website.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes relating to these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply.
